Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered into a search box is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. Clearfield County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained as needed to prepare a response. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may automatically receive basic technical details:
- Page-view dates and times
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- IP address
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- A referring website, when one exists
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic information, such as popular pages and points where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although disabling them may change how parts of the site function.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the selected partner
- Maintaining site availability and performance
- Diagnosing technical faults
- Understanding which pages are useful
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Clearfield County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It provides general directions to local police, Clearfield County courts and jail, the Pennsylvania State Police Central Repository, and the Pennsylvania Megan's Law Public Website. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not turned into a consumer report or a file about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the site's search tools. Information submitted there is governed by that partner's privacy policy. Each provider controls its retention and disclosure practices, so review those terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Clearfield County offices, Pennsylvania court and agency portals, legal resources, or commercial tools. Once a visitor follows an outside link, that destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a submitted query
- Advertising networks serving site ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet system is completely secure, however, so the site cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as coming from a minor will be deleted when the operator learns of it.
Your Data Rights
Rights vary by residence and applicable law. The Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law governs access to public-agency records, while the Criminal History Record Information Act, including 18 Pa.C.S. § 9121, governs official criminal-history dissemination. Neither law turns this private site into a government records office. Subject to applicable law and valid exceptions, a visitor may:
- Request access to available personal data
- Ask for inaccurate data to be corrected
- Seek deletion where the law permits
- Opt out of eligible processing
